Our love for Madeleine Thompson all started with one perfectly slouchy cashmere beanie—it was the first piece she ever designed and the piece that got everyone buzzing about the British knitwear designer.
A decade later, the stars aligned and our brands connected, instantly bonding over a mutual love of yoga and soft, playful knits. With that, we dreamed up our first collaboration with Madeleine Thompson, a cashmere-inspired capsule filled with rainbow stripes and light-as-air knits. This time around, we decided to take it to the next level with an 8-piece capsule collection designed to elevate your mood and outfit en route to the studio.

First things first, when did you know you wanted to be a knitwear designer?
I was a fashion buyer and was asked to start designing for their own brand; that’s when I thought, hang on a minute!
Why did you decide to start with a cashmere beanie?
I wanted to make clothes from this super high end, luxe product, but I wanted them to feel fresh and current. A slouchy beanie seemed the perfect place to start!
What’s your vision for Madeleine Thompson Cashmere ?
I am incredibly proud that the label has grown in a very organic way. It felt very important to me that I responded to a real desire for the product. We are incredibly excited to work with bluenoteeurope and move into the United States which has always been my dream.
When our brands met, we felt an instant connection — why were you excited to collaborate with bluenoteeurope?
I was SO excited. This is a brand that has a soul, you know? That is super refreshing.
Where do you find inspiration?
Literally everywhere! I am very inspired by retro après ski and the 1970’s California skater vibe too.
What are the most important lessons you’ve learned from launching your own business?
I think the main thing is to be true to your own message and your own product. Once you have that I think the rest will follow.
What are the most important lessons you’ve learned from being a mother?
Patience (still working on that one) and learning to let go a bit. You can’t control everything anymore, and that takes a bit of getting used to. It’s not all about you and that’s kind of amazing.
What are your favorite ways to take a step back and practice self care?
I have started to do yoga again after my third baby and I’m loving it! Every practice feels like such a treat for ME! I also love running and I’m trying to meditate, as I know that the benefits are amazing.
If we practice something every day, we are bound to get good at it. So, I’m going to practice being in the moment and focusing on all the wonderful things in my life and in the world! Spending time with my children and my wonderful husband makes me very happy.
